Liz Tries Skiing

After the trip to Jackson, Liz decided she was finally ready to leave the snowboard at home for a day and try skiing. We rented her a pair of skis and headed for Snowbird. Because it is well into the Spring season, Snowbird is the only resort still open and they have shutdown some of the chairlifts. We took the Gadzoom chair up and took the easiest run they had. It started well, but it got a little rougher when we got to a steeper section. A mountain host saw Liz trying her snowplow and decided to rescue her (and another beginner he had found) and asked patrol to take her down in a sled. We spent sometime on the Chickadee lift at the base and Liz had a good first day. She was glad to have the adventure on the upper mountain because she enjoyed the sled ride! Jack got a little bored waiting for his sister, but he had a great job and enjoyed being able to help teach her a thing or two for once!

Gina is a Guitar Hero

We have found a surprising new talent of Gina's. Guitar Hero!! She is not playing Expert level yet, but she is off to an impressive start after just 2 days. Ashley, Liz's friend, challenged her and beat her on Metallica's One and I am sure there will be a rematch soon!

[Gina Edit]OK, now let me tell the whole story! Paul and Liz had consistently been booed off the stage so they thought I would too! Sure....share the humiliation! So, I kicked some major bootay! Now Paul claims that when he does badly he has....are you ready for this....."carpel tunnel syndrome from guitar hero"!!!! Whatever! Face it! You are just not as good as me! The sad fact of the day? I found myself doing the one thing I hated that my mom did to me! Remember when she used to yell from the kitchen or living room yelling the counting while you practiced the piano? And then moving into the practice room while you practiced tapping the piano to the beat..."one, two, three, one, two, three". Yep....I did that to Liz! Arghhh!

Oh well....I enjoy it and am proud to say that I can play Cream, the Strokes, and Iron Maiden! Another thing to put on my resume!

Lewis & Clark

Tonight was the 5th grade musical program for Liz. It was about Lewis & Clark. Liz was supposed to be a Native American in the chorus. Unfortunately for her, Gina was out of town and Dad's costume and hairbraiding skills are VERY weak. But Jack and I had fun watching.
